Job Summary:

The Senior Database Developer supports UDC’s Material Business. Key activities include developing and continually improving custom application modules for UDC’s Quality-EHS management platform, ETQ Reliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality, detailed consultation, technical support and troubleshooting for UDC’s ETQ website platform, the company’s enterprise Quality-EHS management system. Design and build solutions using standard technologies and tools. Coordinate with UDC departments on planning, designing, organizing, developing, and maintaining consistent content.
  • Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes and improvements. Provide instruction on procedures and use of software. Identify and apply security measures consistent with regulatory guidelines and security policies and procedures.
  • Provide application support services such as report development, security administration, implementation, upgrade or fix specifications, integration development and support, written and oral communications, documentation, and training to end user departments with a high level of customer service. Maintain systems based on best practices consistent with regulatory standards and UDC security policies and procedures. Maintain detailed records as appropriate.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with 3rd party vendor to identify and solve problems with software systems. Troubleshoot problems; make corrective changes to existing configurations through consultation with vendor.
  • Act as project manager for software implementation projects involving 3rd party vendor. Plan, organize, and develop project outlines; communicate with team members, and act as liaison between vendors and department stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree in computer science, information systems management, business computer programming, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in software development, or systems analysis/project management supporting applications in a complex business setting
  • Experience supporting applications that use MS SQL relational database management software. Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP
  • Track record of excellent project management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with peers and management
  • Ability to work efficiently & effectively with minimal supervision.
